"Scientists discover the world that is; engineers create the world that never was." This was the opening statement from the engineers from NAVAIR at Fleet Readiness Center East, Marine Corp. Air Station Cherry Point as they engaged our 5th, 7th, 8th and high school students during our Engineering Week celebration. Matthew Bruce, an aerospace engineer, Phillip Bell, a mechanical engineer, and Warren Davis, an electrical engineer, spent the day with 131 students regaling them with stories about what it is like to be an engineer and challenging the students with building (and then repairing) a hoop glider. They invited the students to visit Cherry Point and take part in their programs like field trips, job shadows, and internships. A big thank you to these engineers for sharing their time and expertise with us! Please visit NAVAIR's booth at our upcoming Family Fun Science Night on March 14th, at 5:30 to learn more!
