Annual ACS Christmas Concert
Our annual Christmas concert will take place on Tuesday, December 5th at 6:30pm.
Grades Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd will perform Christmas songs under the direction of Ms. Paula Murray.
The “Bobcat Bouncers” under the direction of Ms. Jessica Coleman and Ms. Elizabeth Toler, will also perform.

The Arapahoe Charter School High School Student Government club has chosen a hygiene project for their service project this year. They would like to provide every middle and high schooler with a hygiene gift bag (shampoo, deodorant, body wash, toothbrush, and toothpaste). This is a huge undertaking and we need your help. Basketball Season Pass
If you are interested in purchasing a season pass for the basketball season fill out the form below and submit your money and form to Coach Coleman, Athletic Director.
General Admission: $7 per person
Individual Season Pass: $28 (admission to all home games)
Family Season Pass: $80 (admission to all home games)

Registration Is Open For NC Driver’s Education Course
Students who are at least 14 years 6 months old, or will be by Monday, November 6, 2023 and interested in taking the North Carolina Driver Education 30-hour classroom instruction class must complete this Google Form by Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 8AM to be considered.
The classes will be held virtually November 6 – 21 (Monday – Friday) from 7:00PM-9:30PM. Students will need reliable internet access along with an email address they use regularly. Students planning to take the class must be passing at least three of their four semester courses according to the most recent reporting of grades and have good attendance. Students without a clean disciplinary record will have their disciplinary record reviewed by the administration for inclusion in the class. If you are currently playing a sport or have other activities going on, I would suggest waiting until the next course offering as this would conflict with your practices/games/events.
Students will receive an email notifying them of their acceptance Friday, November 3rd by 5PM.

SCHOOL WILL BE CLOSED THURSDAY, AUGUST 31
Due to inclement weather, Arapahoe Charter School will be closed Thursday, August 31st for students and staff. All athletics practices have been cancelled for today and tomorrow. The school day will be made up on the designated make up day, October 9th. Picture day has been rescheduled for Wednesday, September 13.
Annual Meeting Reminder
The meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 29th at 7pm in the school cafeteria. The doors will open at 6:30pm. Membership fee is $5.00
The purpose of the meeting will be to share “the State of ACS in 2023-2024 and the plans or vision for the coming year,” the introduction of the new faculty and staff, an update of the finances of the school and the election of new members to the Board of Directors. Candidates who place their names in nomination for the vacating positions will have the opportunity to speak to the membership and are available to answer questions.

Adding Money To Your Child’s Cafeteria Account And Paying School Fees Online
This year we have a new system for putting money on your child’s lunch account. It’s called “MySchoolBucks”. Please see the flier to the left on how to set up your new account in order to add money to your child’s cafeteria account for snacks, ice cream, etc.
Once all the wrinkles are ironed out you’ll be able to use this for paying for class T-Shirts, laptop insurance, etc.

Digital Device Survey
The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (DPI) is asking parents to complete a voluntary survey on the availability of digital devices in your homes.
You can take this survey through the Parent Portal. To the left of your child’s information, under the Navigation ribbon, the Digital Device Survey is the last item in the list.
According to DPI the purpose of this survey is to fulfill session law Ҥ 115C-102.9 calling for the collection and reporting of data regarding all students access to digital devices and internet access at home. This information will be used to help target areas of need and ensure that all NC students have adequate access to devices and the internet to access learning. Note that the information gathered will be kept private and confidential.

Spirit Day: Students will be able to dress up as their favorite Dr. Seuss character on Friday, March 3.
Book Bingo: Students will receive a bingo card. Each card will have opportunities for students to read diverse books. Books can be read independently or with family members. Students are encouraged to read throughout the month of February.
Students will receive a small prize for “making bingo” and go into a drawing for book fair bucks. A winner will be drawn from each grade level span (K- 2, 3- 5, middle school, and high school). Bingo cards are due Friday, March 3.

Help Bring More Broadband to Pamlico County
The North Carolina Department of Information Technology (NCDIT) and it’s NC Broadband Infrastructure Office (NC BIO) have been integral partners on broadband projects in Pamlico County. They now request that our households and businesses take the NC Broadband Survey to pinpoint remaining service gaps in our County. The responses will be integrated into the State Broadband Infrastructure map so that Pamlico County and the State of North Carolina can prioritize funding to last mile areas.
To be in position to fully tap into and compete for those funds, we must have a good response rate to the NC Broadband Survey.
